W. G. Hamil is a family-owned and operated business whose roots trace back to 1935 and my grandfather’s founding of the J. W. Renfroe Pecan Company in Troy, Alabama. From the beginning, J. W. Renfroe set out to build the small business that bore his name on the twin principles of honesty and integrity. When I joined the company in 1980, watermelons were added to our line of quality products. In 2007, I purchased the Thomasville, Georgia assets of my uncle’s business, and thus began W. G. Hamil, LLC. My son, Michael, joined the company full time in 2010, injecting a renewed youthful energy into the company and assuring a continuation of the family business values our customers have come to trust.
